Opel Ireland is recalling around 8,200 Opel Zafira B cars to protect them from a fire risk.

Opel is to write to 8,000 Zafira B owners in Ireland after reports of the cars bursting into flames.

Opel Ireland has said investigations are on-going into problems with the heating systems in some Zafira models made between 2005 and 2014.

Vauxhall is to recall some of its Zafira models, after 130 of the cars were reported to have burst into flames.
