Opel investigating possible fault in some Opel Zafira B models

Opel Ireland has said investigations are on-going into problems with the heating systems in some Zafira models made between 2005 and 2014.

A number of fires have been reported in the UK as a result of the issue.

Opel Ireland has said any customers with concerns should contact their dealers who will carry out a free inspection.

It is also telling owners of Zafira B models that if they notice any unusual characteristics with the heating and ventilation system - for example a squeaking noise from the dashboard - to contact their Opel dealer and arrange for an inspection.

The problem first came to people’s attention after three mothers set up a Facebook page after their cars all caught fire unexpectedly.
