A man and a woman, both in their 30s, have been arrested after a shotgun and ammunition were recovered in Co Cork as part of Operation Thor.

Three men are due in court charged in connection with a drugs seizure in Longford earlier this week.

The lawyer for a man charged with carrying a pump-action shotgun during an attempted aggravated burglary accused a garda of telling great lies in the witness box as the officer said he clearly saw the defendant at the crime scene.
