A review of scallop fishing fleets was announced tonight in a bid to prevent further blockades of ports by protesting fishermen.

The Department of the Marine is due to respond to a €5m plan by scallop fishermen in Kilmore Quay today.

The Green Party spokesperson on the Marine, Eamon Ryan, is accusing scallop fishermen in the south-east of holding the Government to ransom.
