Plans for a multimillion-euro revamp of an important weir on the River Blackwater in Cork have been put on hold until May, at the earliest, much to the concern of councillors and anglers.

Cattle are being trained to pump water for themselves as part of a unique project which could lead to clean rivers and the green light for further residential and industrial development in North Cork.
