Representatives of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi's embattled government held face-to-face talks with US officials in neighbouring Tunisia over the weekend, a Libyan government official said today.

AN Irish passport holder was among 103 people killed in a plane crash at Tripoli airport in which a 10-year old boy was the sole survivor.

A LIBYAN plane carrying 104 people crashed yesterday on approach to Tripoli’s airport, leaving a field scattered with smouldering debris that included a large chunk of the tail painted with the airline’s brightly coloured logo. A 10-year-old Dutch boy was the only known survivor.

An Irish citizen was among the victims of the Libyan air crash, it has been announced this evening.
