US stocks were hit sideways as the so-called Faang shares, which include Facebook, Apple, and Netflix, dropped amid lingering concern about US and China trade tensions.

Apple looks set to unveil a special edition device believed to be called the "iPhone X" when the technology giant holds a live event at its new California headquarters on Tuesday.

This year is set to be a major one for Apple due to a variety of reasons, most notably being the 10th anniversary of the iPhone.
