Health Minister Leo Varadkar has invited the widowers of two women who died following childbirth at Sligo Regional Hospital, to meet him.

An 86-year-old pedestrian has died after being hit by a car in Sligo this evening.

Gardaí have held a heavy presence at Sligo Regional hospital overnight, after a man was stabbed in the town yesterday.

A nine-year-old boy and a 21-year-old man have been found dead.
