A fire engulfed the top three floors of a hotel in southern China, killing 30 people, the official Xinhua News Agency reported today.

AT least 32 people were killed, five missing and 116 injured as Typhoon Dujuan slammed into southern China, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.

Seven women workers were killed in a pre-dawn fire at a handicrafts workshop dormitory, a local official said today.
