A Northern Ireland couple who took their child from state care and fled to Scotland are unable to look after the infant, police warned today.

GARDAÍ and the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) have issued a joint appeal for information regarding a 17-month-old girl and her parents.

Police across the UK were alerted tonight over fears that a toddler who was in care in the North was taken to Britain by her parents.
