Roll up, roll up — one of Europe’s oldest circuses has appealed to the people of Ireland to help it celebrate its 125th birthday.

ROLL UP, roll up — the People’s Republic of Cork will get its own official circus today.

AS a veteran politician, Arts Minister John O’Donoghue is well accustomed to walking tightropes, but he didn’t have to go on the high wire when he visited Fossett’s Circus in Killarney at the weekend.

FOSSETT’S Circus has said it may close after 115 years in business because of the rising cost of keeping the show on the road.
