A bus company is investigating in the UK after a passenger told how a driver made a detour so he could visit his wife in hospital.

The founder of UK company Carpetright is planning a shake-up at the retail group which will see the dual role of chairman and chief executive split, it was reported today.

Carpet retailer Carpetright today outlined plans to bolster its presence in smaller towns as it posted a 33% rise in annual profits.
