Swirling flames and thick black smoke erupted from a blazing ethanol tank in Sydney after an explosion set it alight, sparking evacuations but injuring only one person, firefighters said.

The number of people killed in a train crash south of Sydney was reduced today to seven after two people initially feared dead were found alive in a hospital, police said.
