The Irish Government began stockpiling food, blankets and hospital supplies 30 years ago to deal with a potential influx of up to 50,000 refugees from the North.

The Government has announced plans to give €150,000 to the organisers of the Community Games to enable them to hold this summer's event in the Mosney Holiday Centre.

Organisers of the Community Games have called on the Government to find a new venue for the event, which is normally held in the Mosney holiday centre in Co Meath.
