Egyptian police have arrested an American, 11 Europeans and several others from Arab countries for allegedly plotting terrorist attacks in Middle Eastern countries including Iraq, the Interior Ministry said today.

A TURKISH court yesterday convicted two brothers for the “honour killing” of their sister and sentenced one to life in prison and the other to more than 11 years behind bars.

Heavy snow and rainstorms have battered several Middle Eastern countries, closing ports, uprooting trees and disrupting power supplies.
