WHY YOU MONTY, winner of the Local Stake at Rathcormac last season, was a decisive winner of the Ballyarthur Stake, the All-Aged event, at a well run Fermoy & Grange coursing meeting yesterday.

PAT DALY of Ballinhassig, Co. Cork will have one of the leading fancies for the Boyle Bookmakers Derby at Clonmel in February following the success of his impressive puppy Judicial Castlelu in the final of the Patsy Byrne Corn na Féile Derby at Abbeyfeale.

IT was a day of surprises at the Cork Cup meeting at Blarney yesterday with Rusheen Hannah, the property of Master Brendan and Miss Irene O’Callaghan of Macroom, and trained by Liam O’Callaghan, taking the Cork Cup in surprise fashion.
