Gardaí are investigating the possibility a daylight knife attack on a young woman, leaving her with serious slash injuries to the face, may be connected to another incident which happened in Cork City just over a week ago.

A young motorist who was about to get out of his car in the early evening in Cork City was kicked repeatedly in the head by a man trying to rob his phone.
