THE Government should take over Leas Cross, the nursing home closed down in the wake of an RTÉ PrimeTime investigation, to ease overcrowding in Dublin hospitals, Fine Gael demanded yesterday.

MORE than 170 patients were left lying on trolleys in Irish A&Es every day last year, figures from the Health Service Executive and the Irish Nurses Organisation confirm.
