Warning signs about toxic algal scum have been erected on the shoreline of a lake in recent weeks after the death of a dog from suspected poisoning in the Deenagh River

Signs warning of algal scum and a danger to dogs are once again being erected along the shores of Lough Leane, Killarney’s biggest lake and the jewel in the crown of its tourist industry in the Killarney National Park.

Concern has been raised about the condition of trees along one of the main routes into Killarney, Co Kerry.
