A Limerick man has been remanded in custody after he was charged with attempted murder in connection with a shooting in Mulhuddart, in Dublin.

After ransacking a house in an upmarket Limerick suburb, a burglar went to a nearby house where the unsuspecting resident allowed him to phone a taxi to make his getaway.

Gardai discovered cannabis herb with a street value of around €100,000 when they searched a car in Limerick last night.
