As a primary school teacher and parent, I am strongly supporting a yes vote today.

In yet another rant, Anthony Leavy (Irish Examiner, Letters, 29 October) says the media is not condemning the “mobs who do not want to pay for anything”.

It would seem that Michéal Martin and Fianna Fáil have misunderstood or are completely misrepresenting the anger of the Irish people in relation to Irish Water.

The recent dispute at a waste collection company highlights the dangers of privatising services that are essential to citizens. Since privatisation, the quality of service has plummeted in some areas and the cost to the consumer has increased.

BILL Cullen should stick to selling penny apples instead of attacking the young people of this country and blaming them for the current economic quagmire that we find ourselves in.
