Agriculture authorities in Turkey today announced that the H5N1 strain of the bird flu virus was detected in three more villages following a recent outbreak.

A fourth child with flu symptoms has been taken to hospital as a precaution after an outbreak of bird flu in a village in south-eastern Turkey, officials said today.
