A grenade was thrown into a crowd at an election rally in Indian-controlled Kashmir today, killing one person and wounding at least 21 others, police said.

INDIAN security forces surrounded a mosque in Kashmir yesterday and exchanged fire with suspected militants hiding inside, hours after three soldiers were killed in an ambush, police said.
