A man has been sent forward for trial, on a plea of guilty, for trying to escape garda custody in a courthouse, and on a charge of assault, relating to the same incident.

A large crowd gathered outside Bandon District Court in Co Cork tonight as a woman and man were charged with murder following the death of a 27-year-old man in the town at the weekend.
