TEN Traveller homes that were part of Clare County Council’s €20 million spend over 10 years on Traveller accommodation have been destroyed by arson and vandalism, it has emerged.

CLARE County Council is to spend almost €300,000 on providing CCTV on three Traveller accommodation sites — almost three times the original estimate.

A Garda’s son, who was jailed for six years for the manslaughter of a talented teenage boxer, has failed in a bid to take his appeal against his conviction to the Supreme Court.

A garda’s son has been sentenced to six years in prison for the manslaughter of a 14-year-old Traveller boy in Ennis almost two years ago. He was found guilty of the crime while being cleared of murder during a trial in February.
