LOCH Bo Butch is the star turn at the two-day Cork Cup coursing meeting which starts at Blarney on St Stephen’s Day.

MICHAEL LINEHAN from Blarney, Co. Cork took the major prize, the O’Gorman Cup, when his Check It Out proved too good for J. & C. O’Keeffe’s (Glantane) Toureen Town in the Milford Open yesterday.

SHINING KEANO, the property of Pat Treacy from Kilmallock, Co. Limerick, proved a worthy winner of the Maryville Stakes, and the 800 that went with it, at Fedamore Co. Limerick yesterday when he defeated Tom Barrett’s (Co. Limerick) Seefin Oscar in the decider.

ALTHOUGH there was little to choose between all the contenders in yesterday’s opening two rounds, Marshals Supreme is taken to get the better of Leading Oscar in the final of the Derby Trial Stake at the Knockgraffon coursing meeting in New Inn, Co. Tipperary.

AFTER the opening two rounds of the Oaks Trial Stake at the three-day Galbally coursing meeting, it is still hard to make a call on which of the surviving 16 will book one of the last precious few tickets to Clonmel.
