Marshals Supreme can rule at Knockgraffon

ALTHOUGH there was little to choose between all the contenders in yesterday’s opening two rounds, Marshals Supreme is taken to get the better of Leading Oscar in the final of the Derby Trial Stake at the Knockgraffon coursing meeting in New Inn, Co. Tipperary.

In the first quarter, New Highlander may shade it against Great Falls this morning. He could then go on to meet Castlemyles for a place in the semi-final. The latter could have a tough course with Colina Briggs but should then go on to beat New Highlander in the quarter-final.

In the second quarter, Well Boy will be expected to put out Stroll On Over on yesterday’s form, while Leading Oscar can account for Landfall Quarry. Leading Oscar gets the vote to advance.

Crafty Paulo had two good wins yesterday and should continue on his winning ways this morning by beating Sudden Hunter while Colina Tiger and Derryveen Danny meet in a buckle that could go either way. Colina Tiger may shade it but then may have to give best to Crafty Paulo.

Marshals Supreme caught the eye in the final quarter yesterday was Marshals Supreme and can edge out Bilboa Baggins this morning. He can then account for Brickfield Heart, who should put out Galway Max in their third round course.

In the Working Members Stake, Orlaiths Pride may take the final honours at the expense of Donegal Rebel.

Coursing this morning again commences at 11.30.
