TO Shaun Connolly’s list of democracy, kakistocracy kleptocracy, and dumbocracy (Irish Examiner, January 23), I would add phonazocracy — that is to say government by the people who shout the loudest.

LAST year’s Consumer Protection Act was badly needed because it helped to outlaw unfair and misleading commercial practices, like omitting delivery charges from prices in adverts.
