A mild earthquake hit Pakistan’s southern city of Karachi, causing panic among residents but no injuries, an official said today.

SEARCH teams pressed through fog, rain and strong wind yesterday to recover some mutilated bodies from the mountainous site of a military plane crash that killed 302 members of Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guard, the state news agency reported.

A Pakistani military plane carrying 17 people, including the head of the air force, has crashed in a remote region of north-western Pakistan, a senior Air Force official said today.
