A Dublin man has gone on trial accused of stabbing another man to death following a fight outside a pub in Ballyfermot.

Gardaí are waiting to interview a man who survived a second point blank assassination attempt in the space of a year.

Gardaí investigating the savage attack on a man who was shot in the head while driving through inner-city Dublin have recovered the getaway motorbike used in the assault.

In a report on 2 August 2011, the Irish Examiner carried a report in relation to the murder on July 31 of Kevin Kenny, 30, of O’Hogan Road, Ballyfermot, Dublin. In the article it was stated that Mr Kenny had previously been prosecuted for assaulting a tourist. We wish to clarify that Mr Kenny was not, in fact, prosecuted in relation to an assault.

A post mortem examination is to be carried out today on the body of a man who was shot dead in Ballyfermot in Dublin yesterday.
