On a fast and furious opening 96km stage, Alex Luhrs (Ribble Pro Cycling) took the win from a breakaway trio ahead of his teammate Dan Bigham on day one of the Kerry Group Rás Mumhan. Ben Healy (Team Ireland) just hung on to the flying English duo to take third.

The Kerry Group Rás Mumhan 4-Day cycle race gets underway on the roads of Kerry and Limerick this morning with an increased profile following the cancellation of this year’s Rás Tailteann.

It’s ‘as you were’ going into stage three of the An Post Rás today, as Sunday’s stage winner Nicolai Brochner-Nielsen managed to hold on to the yellow jersey by the skin of his teeth.

Former Italian international rider Matteo Cigala claimed the final stage of the Kerry Group Rás Mumhan in Killorglin yesterday as overnight leader Dillon Byrne retained the yellow jersey.
