Ireland needs to consider adopting a partnership approach involving the public, Government and gardaí, if it is to develop a coherent strategy for dealing with road safety, a safety expert has warned.

The behaviour of drivers on the road can be changed by speed cameras, Garda enforcement and advertising campaigns, a conference will hear today.

It seems that common sense and safety will not co-exist on our roads without the intervention in a major way of Big Brother, in the shape of speed cameras.
