CORK county board PRO Ger Lane last night insisted they had no control over the scheduling of tonight’s Muskerry U21HC quarter-final between Éire Óg and Cloughduv in Páirc Ui Rinn, in which Ciaran Sheehan will be forced to line out just over 48 hours after helping Cork claim All-Ireland senior football honours.

THE CORK County Board insisted yesterday that it did not have €2 million earmarked for a GAA centre of excellence in the city “sitting in the bank”, contrary to suggestions made at the Cork GAA clubs forum report launch on Sunday night.
