CHRIS MINTERN (Coláiste Chríost Rí) warmed up for next weekend’s attempt to win the national triathlon title in Fingal by winning the intermediate 3,000m title at the opening session of the South Munster Schools track and field championships at the CIT track in Bishopstown yesterday.

THE record books of the Avonmore Munster Schools Junior Cup were weighted heavily against Glenstal Abbey at Temple Hill yesterday, but the Murroe, Co Limerick school fashioned a magnificent first ever victory over cup specialists Christian Brothers College Cork.
