Former Enron Corp chiefs Kenneth Lay and Jeffrey Skilling were convicted today of conspiracy and securities and wire fraud in one of the biggest business scandals in US history.

Former Enron chairman Kenneth Lay pulled out of this week’s scheduled congressional testimony as members of Congress suggested he and other company executives engaged in widespread criminality.
