A brother and uncle of an American woman jailed for the murder of her Irish husband and father of two are to appear in a documentary to be screened on Saturday by a major US TV network.

A sister of a father-of-two who was murdered by his wife and father in law has thanked family, friends and the public for their support following news of a major US TV network documentary.

A Facebook page urging the US justice system to keep two convicted murderers of an Irish father-of-two behind bars has been set-up.

The American father and daughter convicted of the murder of Limerick man Jason Corbett should have been tried for first-degree murder and faced the death penalty, the eldest brother of the deceased has said.

“Jason was unarmed, he was struck when he was lying down in the middle of the night. Two people battered him until he was dead and then battered him even more.”

Amid conflicting reports about their whereabouts, the two Limerick children at the centre of a bitter custody battle in North Carolina were last night believed to have been on their way to Ireland.

The Limerick grandmother of the two Corbett children who are finally in the care of their aunt and uncle last night told how her granddaughter had told her on the phone “she was happy as Larry, and she loves me”.
