A miniature Bronze Age axe has been recovered in Co Limerick by Gardaí and the National Museum of Ireland.

The Irish Film Institute has teamed up with the Science Gallery Dublin to present a series called Futures Past - taking classic sci-fi films and examining how they spoke about their present and reached forward to the future.

It’s going to be some test of our mettle. Whether Irish eyes will be smiling through what passes for an Irish summer, the fiscal treaty referendum and the Euro 2012 campaign will be measured over the next six weeks.
