Sweden have appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport for Lisa Norden to be awarded a gold medal and a share of first place in the women’s triathlon race at the Olympics.

Triathlon Ireland bosses believe the spectacle and drama of Saturday’s Olympic women’s final will encourage more people to take up the sport.
