A brother and a friend of a man who died in a Christmastime pub fracas in Cork were yesterday given suspended jail sentences for engaging in violent disorder.

An assault charge was brought against a man yesterday arising out of an incident where another man was killed outside a pub in Ballyphehane, Cork, in 2011.

Two men were arrested yesterday and charged with engaging in violent disorder at the Manhattan Bar in Togher, Cork, last Christmas, arising out of an incident where a man was killed.

Two men have been charged in connection with a row last St Stephen's Night in Cork in which a man who was assaulted later died.
