The seismic shock of a 32nd minute Andorra goal - only their fourth in eight Group Two qualifiers - finally stunned the Republic of Ireland into productive action against the World Cup part-timers at Lansdowne Road.

Mark Kennedy's spell in the international wilderness was ended by Ireland manager Mick McCarthy this afternoon when the Manchester City winger was named in the starting eleven to face Andorra in Wednesday night's World Cup qualifier at Lansdowne Road.

Goals from Ian Harte, Kevin Kilbane and Matt Holland could Ireland top of Group Two following their defeat of Andorra in Barcelona this evening.
