The new Policing Authority has announced its arrival and wasted little time in heaping more pressure on a beleaguered Garda Commissioner Nóirín O’Sullivan.

The head of the Revenue Commissioners has been asked to appear before the Oireachtas Finance Committee to explain why some people are being asked to pay next year's property tax this month.

The new property tax is almost upon us and Josephine Fehily of the Revenue Commissioners has stated that the tax will be unavoidable for all property owners. However, it is apparent that tenants will not be liable for this tax.
