Former government minister Ray Burke was today hit with a massive legal bill for more than €10m after he was found to have hindered the Planning Tribunal.

The Planning Tribunal will next week rule if former minister Ray Burke should be granted costs, it emerged tonight.

Builders Tom Brennan and Joseph McGowan are challenging the Mahon Tribunal’s decision to make them pay their own legal costs arising from the tribunal’s investigations.

DISGRACED former Fianna Fáil minister Ray Burke and several leading businessmen who obstructed the Flood Tribunal may have their multi-million euro legal fees paid by the taxpayer.

WHILE corrupt planning practices involving Ray Burke have been exposed by the Flood Tribunal, many of the matters were reported as early as 20 years ago.

RAY BURKE received £160,000 in corrupt payments through offshore bank accounts in exchange for political favours, the Flood Tribunal has concluded.
