Hundreds of volunteers have joined a weekend search for the body of a teenager swept out to sea in Co Down.

A TEENAGE boy told yesterday of how he jumped into the water in a vain attempt to save a friend who was swept off a pier into the Irish Sea.

Hundreds of local people are still searching the beaches by torchlight around the harbour of Killough, Co Down, for a missing 14-year-old boy even though the coastguard has called off its search.
