A CONVICTED killer who had bitten off part of a man’s ear during an earlier dispute and posted it through the victim’s letterbox in an envelope some days later has been jailed for four years.

Three inmates who participated in a 12-hour riot at St Patrick’s Institution in the grounds of Mountjoy Prison have been given two-year suspended sentences by Judge Frank O’Donnell at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

Old Belvedere maintained their lead at the top of the AIB League Division Two, thanks to a 20-8 success at Ballynahinch this afternoon.

Division Two continues to be dominated by Dublin clubs with three in the top four, and new leaders Old Belvedere at the summit thanks to four tries against mid-table Malone at Anglesea Road.

Concern is mounting for a young man missing from his Wicklow home since last Thursday.
