Barcelona hope to negotiate the signing of Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas at the World Cup in South Africa.

Barcelona have confirmed they have submitted a written offer to Arsenal for midfielder Cesc Fabregas and are now in “formal” discussions.

BARCELONA captain Carles Puyol has described Cesc Fabregas as “perfect” for the Catalan giants, just hours after the Arsenal skipper’s father expressed his belief that the Gunners will, reluctantly, end up allowing their prize asset to leave.

Barcelona corporate director general Joan Oliver has confirmed the club have been in contact with Arsenal regarding Cesc Fabregas but insists they have not yet made an offer for the Spain midfielder.
