American Horror Story: Asylum' and 'The Big Bang Theory' have each been nominated for six Critics' Choice Television Awards.

Heralded as Steven Soderbergh’s final movie, Side Effects (15A) opens up in sombre fashion, as psychiatrist Dr Jonathan Banks (Jude Law) attempts to treat a patient, Emily (Rooney Mara), with a combination of anti-depressants.

In many ways the story surrounding this wonderful film is more important than the film itself since director Shelley, one of the most talented of indie moviemakers, died earlier in the year.

Little monsters testing adults to the limits of endurance ... skirts up to here, studs everywhere (even, pass the salts, in the belly-button), tongues that could chop wood, attitudes, attitudes, attitudes!
