The British Ministry of Defence (MoD) is preparing to pay compensation to relatives of those killed or injured by soldiers on Bloody Sunday.

One of the teenagers shot dead on Bloody Sunday gave his mother money for her birthday as he set off on the ill-fated civil rights demonstration that day, his sister said today.
