Incoming Taoiseach Micheál Martin has promised a major national economic recovery plan and multi-billion euro stimulus as early as next month to “get people back to work”.

Several Fine Gael party sources have insisted there has been no falling out between the two men but that Mr Murphy is keen to step back from ministerial politics.
