Three Palestinian government cars tonight passed through the Rafah border crossing into Egypt to fetch Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh after gunmen from his Hamas group seized control of the terminal.

Hamas militants today burst into the Rafah border terminal, sparking a gunbattle with guards before taking control of the crossing.
