A Dublin man who hid €26,000 worth of cannabis resin in his garden shed has had his sentencing adjourned until October.

A Co Kildare resident appeared in court today charged in connection with a seizure of guns and ecstasy tablets in Dublin on Wednesday last.

An Australian national who had to undergo emergency surgery after he swallowed 80 pellets of vacuum-packed cocaine has been jailed for seven years by Judge Katherine Delahunt at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

A total of 20 years in consecutive sentences has been imposed on a drug addict who committed seven robberies to pay back a €25,000 debt to "people you don’t want to mess with".
